This may be a late response, but I came across this thread while trying to find my own solution to this issue. So I registered on MacRumors.com and wrote my first post. Anyways...
I found a solution here:
Simply run the following:
sudo killall -KILL appleeventsd sudo killall -KILL Finder
|10.7, finder, lion, os x, spotlight|
