My iPad 4 64GB VZW that we just purchased last week was made in week 41 (October).

My biggest concern with a week 37 iPad was that it would have a bunch of defects (really bad light bleed, dead pixels, bad colour tint) but my iPad is pretty much perfect! I do notice a warmer tint on the screen than other iDevices I've owned, but I think I actually like that... I guess the idea that early batch iPads are the worst isn't necessarily true.

So far, my experience on this new "3 month old" iPad is incredible, especially with this 12+ hour battery! Staring at the battery life percentage and seeing it not change for several minutes at a time still shocks me.

BTW, does Apple really make new devices so early? My 4th gen would have been made in the middle of September, and yet it wasn't released until early November.

4th gen iPads weren't exactly a sellout like their mini counterparts, so stock isn't an issue.
