"fetching" permissions after upgrading to new iMac

I moved my time machine backup from my 2010 iMac to 2012. I slowly noticed that some apps were giving me errors that I didn't have correct permissions. I looked at some files and there was a "fetching" instead of my username.

Eventually, my new iMac would not reboot ... Whether it's due to the permissions issue or not, I'm wondering what I should do? I rebooted new mac to factory condition.

On my old back, I looked at the files in question -- they are all correct, in that they show the correct username and permissions ... ???
