Mute Button Glued
Hi All,
I got bored of always switching the iphone 5 switch from mute to loud, so I decided to glue the switch into the 'mute' position. The problem is, I think I used too much superglue and the button wont move. Is there anyway to turn mute off within the phone? I'll be pretty angry at apple if you cant.

Wait- You'll be pretty angry at apple if you cant?
So, you glue your phone into the mute position & use to much glue. How is this Apple's wrong doing? wow.

[/Louis CK voice] And no, I don't think there's a way to toggle silent ON/OFF from within the phone. Your fault, not Apple's. |

It's going back for a refund then.
They really shouldn't send phones out if you can't do things without buttons ---------- It's nothing like that at all, gluing a car would be stupid. The iPhone button was annoying the hell out of me, so I glued it. I'm sure loads of people have

Also, buttons are there to be used, not glued down. |

I know you'll think this is funny, but I'm really mad at apple for allowing the phone to be shipped like this.

I'm genuinely curious, though: if you sold someone a car and they did happen to glue the ignition and then came back to you for a refund, would you give it to them? If your answer is no, then consider that Apple's answer as well. What may seem stupid to you may not seem so to someone else. And vice versa. |

Enable "Assistive Touch" under General->Accessibility.
Tap the circle. Hit Device. And then hit Unmute. Troll thread has a solution.

is this serious? Is this real life?
OP, in case you ARE serious and not just trolling -- NO there is NO WAY to turn mute off via the software. That would be redundant given that there is a physical button to do so. Now, before you keep trolling/whining, please, please tell us why the F^*K you GLUED the mute switch in the mute position? I can guarantee you NOBODY else (maybe from your genetic line, perhaps) has done so. Explain why you did this and I will tell you how to unmute it from within iOS. |

I realized this after typing my tirade above... lol.
That's why the last line in my post -- figured I could at least get some info as to why or what would be going through one's head to physically GLUE a button in a specific position. I hope this is real though and this guy just pwned himself by gluing the button and now Apple won't replace the device. lol lol |

Yeah, at the very least you'd be able to turn the volume all the way down and turn off alerts. But also agreed, there's a bridge somewhere looking for a troll and a village missing wise, contributing member of society.
