Plugging New Macbook Pro into Older TV

Hey all, have a pretty easy question that I probably should know the answer to but oh well. Just wondering how I plug my 2012 Macbook Pro into my older TV (no hdmi.)

Do I just need the mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter and a VGA cable? That simple?
