I read all the postings in Rip those Macs apart very carefully. But I still can not find the answer to my question I have a 1TB fusion drive, Can I remove the SSD and hard drive and replace them with a 512 SSD from a 15 inch Mac Pro retina? Did I miss something while reading the thread?

You will need to rebuild the Fusion drive, but replacing the SSD should not be a problem.

My MBP has a 800GB DIY Fusion drive. Making one is really very easy.
