Hi,

In the past week the battery % of my iPhone 5 will be anywhere from 25-50% charged, yet I'll get a random shutdown...then when I try to turn it back on, it'll show me the "plug-in-your-dead-phone-to-a-charger" screen.

If I wait about 15 minutes the phone will turn back on, but the percentage will drop rapidly.

Anyone have any advice for me on this? I will be away over the next few weeks without access to a GeniusBar, so I would like to get this replaced in 1 visit. The last thing I want to do is go into the store and have them tell me that I need to reinstall iOS...try troubleshooting, etc........

Anyone here experience something similar with their phone?...and how did Apple handle your service? Was it easy to get replaced? I want to get this replaced ASAP and not have any hassles with it while I am away.

Advice would be great on how to handle the Genius Bar. Thanks!!

Why wouldn't you try wiping your phone before making a genius appointment?

Setting up a new replacement phone will be just as troublesome.
