Core 2 Duo 1.8ghz vs 2.4ghz?
In terms of gaming, how much of a difference performance-wise will the 2.4 give over the 1.8? Cheers.

Not very much IMO, unless the 2.4 is a Quad.
IMO I would not bother and put that investment into, say a i5 or i7 down the line. |

if you are comparing a low voltage 1.8, like many of the 1.8s are... they are lower power, lower heat and the integrated graphics aren't quite as good. Overall I think the 2.4 (if its a full normal voltage mobile CPU) would be a noticeable improvement, but just barely... and depending on exactly what games your talking about.

Well I have a little Dell Optiplex 745 SFF, which has a 1.8ghz C2D at the moment. It's getting 4gb RAM & a HD6450 in the next couple of days & am debating on whether or not to upgrade the CPU while I'm at it.
I'll be playing nothing too intense - GTA (III, VC, SA, IV), ARMA II (DayZ). All of which the card can handle well enough. I'm just wondering if the CPU will be up to it too.

Okay, I just bought a 2.66ghz Core 2 Duo to shove in there. Scores an extra 1000 on Geekbench than the 1.8ghz so it should improve performance somewhat. Thanks for the input!
