It's been a while since I thought of one of these but came across an idea yesterday. It would be called "Autodoor For Dogs". It's purpose is to allow dogs to roam the grounds freely and come inside after they're done their "business". It would be like a small clip-on device to attach to their collar that connects to a receiver on the door. When the dog gets close, the receiver opens the door. This would work going inside and out. Humans could lock the door or the receiver when they don't want their dogs to go outside. What do you guys think?

RFID + Arduino. I already thought about this, but I live in an apartment, so it's not feasible right now.

Other ideas:
- Limit the opening times, so it doesn't go out at night
-Set a timer and let you know if it's not back after a preset time...
-Couple that with an Android dev kit, and you can add many other things.

Not really hard to do.

Also, dogs shouldn't roam around alone, so fence your garden. :)
