questions about Disk Utility

Not really sure where to post this, I hope it is correct..
My question is the following.
I use Outlook and I need to know when I delete an email from TRASH and then use Disk Utility, ERASE and then ERASE FREE SPACE, does it COMPLETELY ERASE THAT EMAIL FOR THE HARD DRIVE so that it is not recoverable...
Thanks in advance

That's what it says in the Erase pane in Disk Utility. You could also use the Secure Empty Trash option which will overwrite the file.
