I recently switched out my HDD for a SSD and with my music library being so large (100GB), it takes up half of my SSD space...

What I'm asking is if I can store the iTunes consolidated library over to my File Server?
As I'm using a Macbook Pro, it won't be connected to the File Server all the time so I want to be able to have one of my Playlists (Randomized Favourites list which only has around 1GB of music) to be stored locally on the Macbook as well.

Is this at all possible?

Problem is I have my playlists and ratings...

Is there any way to move the files without affecting my playlists and ratings?
I would really rather not have to reorganize thousands of songs.
