I have a late 2009 imac with a Western Digital 500gyg harddrive and wish to upgrade to 1 terabyte.
Has anyone done this using a new Western Digital drive.
If so were there any cooling fan issues?
Many thanks John

You can use any hard drive you want, just take the sensor cable, cut it in half, strip it, then twist the wires together. This will trick the system into thinking there is a sensor. Not all hard drives support the thermal sensor over the com pinouts on hard drives :/

This is what I have to do at work and have not had a single problem.
