iPad: iPad Mini & 4th Gen on UK LTE (EE) Network?

Just a quick question: Should an iPad Mini or 4th gen bought from a reputable source in the UK work on the UK's LTE network? If I Google this, the results suggest it should but when I look at the Apple UK page, I see no reference to LTE.

Also, assuming it does work with LTE, has anyone here had any luck walking into an EE store and getting a LTE compatible nano SIM and contract for their new iPad?
