Just bought the 4th gen Touch as a gift, now what?

I picked up a refurb 32gb touch for $179 from the Apple store. It's going to be a Christmas gift for my 12 year old nephew. I set an iTunes account for him and plan on loading in some of his favorite music so it's ready to go when he gets it (the kid loves Linkin Park and Green Day).

Any suggestions for apps to install for him?

Wow, you sound like an awesome uncle/aunt.

As for apps, here are my favorites:
  • Cut the Rope (also has a Free version)
  • Blast A Way
  • Letterpress
  • Jet Car Stunts (also has a Lite version)
  • Enigmo
  • Trainyard (also has an "Express" version)
  • Feed Me Oil (also has a Lite version)
  • Gangstar
  • Doodle Jump
  • Cordy (free, but more levels must be purchased)

Thanks for the tips! I planned on Temple Run and Jet Car Stunts (he loves them on my iPhone).

Please keep them coming!

BTW, my father (his grandpa) split the purchase with me.

I'd suggest you set up the restrictions on the iPod touch for music, TV, movie ratings, then see if somebody will give him an iTunes gift card to load onto his account, so he can buy some apps/music/movies of his own.

Good games:
Jetpack Joyride
Kingdom Rush
