Lion server Slow on Xserve
Hi,
We have a Xserve (2.26 Quad, 9gb ram) running 10.7.5. To start any application on the server it takes ages. This has been a problem since day one and i'm starting to wonder if we should upgrade to a Mac Mini Server. I've cloned the system and booted from a Mac Mini and the system is snappy! So it's not a bad install. I noticed that others have had the same issue, but there was no reply on that forum. Can anyone help? Thanks

Could it simply be a slow HD (i.e. almost a failure) on the Xserve?
Might be good practise to move away from the Xserve anyway as the support for the hardware is fading away. Funny, actually, to call going from Xserve to Mac mini an upgrade.... True, but funny.
