http://www6.pcmag.com/media/images/3...n-me-round.jpg What exactly is ugly about this (and these are pics of the 27" model)? Seems to me people are exaggerating the hump. Similar to those who claimed the new iPad was soooooo much heavier and thicker than iPad 2.

I'm kind of wondering if this is just a troll thread. CRTs took up more space in the sense that you needed enough depth, and in some cases a surface that could support the weight. They also had a different method of refresh, which caused eye strain in some individuals. At this point the changes offer certain aesthetic qualities when not in use. When the computer is in use (imagine that), the differences are really limited to the implementation of the display. Lowered reflectivity sounds like a good thing.

Is this your machine? I don't get the criticism either, it looks stunning! But we're all different, I guess.

No one's gonna be using the iMac facing the back. But then again, no one's gonna be using it facing the side or at 45° angle either.

Miss Anne Elk's iMac theory...
All iMacs are thin at one end, much, much thicker in the middle, and then thin again at the far end.
(With apologies to Monty Python.) |

If I wanted to see a camel I'd visit the desert. The hump is repulsive.

LOL WOW, talk about hysterical hyperbole! The new iMac is so gorgeous that I want one even though I have no use for a desktop computer. If only ACTUAL "cancerous warts" could be so sleek and beautiful.
