Today is World Cancer Day

so a thank you to those researchers and medical geeks that have advanced cancer treatments over the years;

a big thanks to those nurses and doctors caring for people with cancer;

Thanks also to all the organisations and charities that support those affected by cancer and their families;

Big up to those who have survived cancer

and finally remember those who lost the fight with cancer.

..... a drink in all your honours

I'll join you with that toast. It's taken my Da and my kid brother, but my Mam and I are making out OK.

Never even heard of the "holiday" before today.
Happy cancer day, I suppose...

It is not a holiday per se, it is an awareness day. Like December 1st for example.

Cheers, I've had a few family members and friends suffer from various cancers.

And thank you for not mentioning a "cure for cancer." Such talk is a grave oversimplification of a complex multifactorial class of diseases.

My wife and her father were battling cancer last year. Sadly her father did not win his battle.
