External Shutdown

Is there a command in Unix that can shutdown computers externally? Like the command "shutdown -i" on the cmd in Windows.

Probably the wrong topic but im new so if possible tell me where to post this.

The command is 'shutdown'.

You may also need to read the man page for the 'sudo' command.
