Turn-by-Turn navigation has been delayed for Australia until sometime this month compared to the previously listed month of delivery as October.
Apple updated their iOS 6 Feature Availability page a few days ago listing the new time frame. This was changed around the same time as the date of arrival for iTunes 11 was pushed back.

Hopefully the delay is so Apple can fix the really bad map data. Not much point in navigating when entire towns are in the wrong location. Cairns is one such example .

I can see it now:

Sydney to Perth
1. Go south over the Harbour Bridge
2. Turn right
3. Drive straight for 2500 miles
4. Turn left

/loves Australia and can't wait to go back someday
