you won't go wrong with most of what has been mentioned...

also, by separating the dac and amp components, you can have a little more control in the sound signature. mostly though, it's fun to mix and match.

i also suggest not buying new, as you'll invariably want to try something else, so buy used, flip, buy used, flip... have fun.
