Of course the Air isn't made for gaming, the fans REALLY crank up, but as far as Minecraft is concerned it's perfecly fine. Wouldn't want to play Skyrim on it though ![]() Cheers

If it runs CoD 4 well, then that one poster that had Minecraft running poorly has got to be an anomaly. Minecraft is way less intense than CoD. I'm seeing a lot more "gaming works" than "it doesn't" as far as this thread goes. Good to know

It shocked me how well it runs. Runs better than my old laptop with an i3 at 2.4Ghz and a 1GB dedicated graphics card.

Bootcamp runs perfectly while OSX FPS is around 20 - 40 on all low setting.

Anyone who says Minecraft was poorly running was either lying or talking about the initial load.

Minecraft runs fluidly on my iPad 3 which is far weaker than a MacBook Air 2012 (it's the pocket version, but it's getting closer and closer to the "real".)
It doesn't matter if the creator's purpose with a given machine is to play games or not, if games work they work, and clearly many do, and then you can make it your purpose to play them. |
