About a week before iOS7 was released a friend of mine switched to an HTC One and sold his iPhone. Ever since the iOS7 update, whenever I or any of his other iPhone contacts attempts to text him it sends a message via iMessage and he doesn't receive the message on his HTC One OR his iPad/Macbook. The only way get a message to/from him is to turn iMessage off.

Things we have tried:
- Removing the phone number from iMessage on his iPad/Macbook
- [Apple Store Request] To change the password on his Apple account
- Removed the old iPhone association on the Apple account

Otherwise the apple store said he would have to wait 30 days from deactivation for it to reset. Which sounds like a BS response and terrible customer service. So I wanted to check if you folks had any suggestions. Any help would be appreciated.

I guess they did that at the Apple store. I'll add it to the list of things attempted. Any other thoughts?
