I am a huge fan of retina display. I could read on it for hours, I just love looking at the sharp text. I wasn't put off by other screens from my ipad 3 though. However, I recently purchased the rMBP and have to say that I prefer it to my other screens, especially for text. I am actually going to sell my MBA because it seems fuzzy now. So, I guess what I am saying is that for me the ipad did not make me dislike other screens but the rMBA did.

I do also have the mini and I also like that but the screen is pretty fuzzy comparatively.
