a couple of issues

is there a way to auto save documents as they are created? I have an autolock on the ipad for security and intermittently when I re-enter my password after the timeout, the open document is lost and DOCAS has shut down. This is very frustrating.

The other userbility issue I have is when in landscape direction primarily, the document is very difficult to scroll through to modify once it becomes long enough to fill the screen. It is almost like the page is too long for an A4 size but if the ipad is turned to portrait direction the document only fills about half a page. This is very cumbersome.

These problems exist in the latest update still.

Thread starter still around to collect feedback? Just the title of this thread made me interested, but much more interested in buying this if the developer has a working set of ears. Goodreader just sends you copy/paste responses if you dare suggest anything to them...

Sorry I can't help with your DOCAS question, but I have to concur with your GoodReader observation. I have sent them suggestions several times over the course of a couple of years. Most of my suggestions have been simple user interface or minor operational improvements that various competitors have in some form - either no response, or canned response and never the addition of a suggestion.

Indeed, very annoying. I sent them two suggestions; the first was to add Pogo Connect support in a way that would automatically switch to annotation mode when using the stylus, and back when not (makes sense if you know what a Pogo Connect is). The other was that they should look at how Goodnotes does zoom box writing and learn from it with regards to how the auto progression system works and whatnot. The response I got was literally identical on both accounts.

Well, the dev's account was active yesterday, and no response here, so I guess that answers that...

Question Issues

I had been using DocAS Lite and enjoying it. Within the app I "upgraded" and paid... This should allow me access to the full version, correct? When I return to iTunes to download the full version, it indicates that I have to pay.

More importantly, I am running into an issue when I open a PDF file in DocAS... the file seems to be limited to 31 pages and random pages are omitted to confine the doc to this number. (in other words, it would skip pages and give me something like 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 11...)

Thoughts?

When I bought the full version, separately, I had to transfer some files via my computer, which was less than ideal (had to export to pdfs, so I lost the ability to manipulate existing objects), everything prettymuch worked out ok. It handles big files np (though a bit slow with really big TOCs on my iPad 1). But, as I say, that was with buying the paid version outside the app.

I upgraded with DocAS Lite.. it's when I open a pdf from Dropbox that it omits pages. I verified that the document was complete in Dropbox, so it definitely occurs upon opening in DocAS... and both documents I attempted this with were 31 pages after being opened in DocAS, but both originals contain 4-5 pages more than that. So, is there document size limit?

My version has no discernible limits on document size. I have some files that have over 2500 pages, and I have never noticed any gaps. Perhaps you have found some sort of bug in the DropBox->DocAS transfer? (I have not used DropBox this way.)

Still awaiting a reply to my email to 9 Square. I just sent another, as well as a note via their website.

Don't think it's occurred to the TS/dev that it shows on their profile when they've been online...which is two days ago. Still no reply in the thread for their app. What a joke.

I've been badmouthing DocAs to anyone around me who has an iPad.

Their customer service is atrocious.

I have requested a refund from the iTunes Store. Their customer service rep immediately responded to my email and are issuing the refund.

Goodbye DocAS.
