wifi samples

Hi Guys,
I'd like to know if there are any samples out there to show the following:

1: How to set up a WLAN client so users can send files from their
computer over wifi to the iPhone using the internal IP address shown on the iPhone screen.
(this is done in Quick Office among other Apps to import files).

2: Detect SSIDs, signal strength and security of all hotspots surrounding
the phone (like a war driving hacker, but that's not why I want it).

There is probably an Apple sample for the first, but I always prefer a
sample that does not much more than what I'm wanting to see.
Cheers, Art.

I believe that there is no possible way to achieve the SSID part without using Private API's, which are against Apple's guidelines.
