Discrepancy about free HD space...?

Finder reports (in the status bar at the bottom of the window) 10GB more free space than System Profiler shows... why is this? I find this quite concerning...

If you are running TM backups, sometimes there are temporary files created on the internal HD which are not consistently identified. Turn off TM, wait a few seconds, turn it back on and then check if the Finder and System Profiler agree (or at least pretty close).
