Do you guys think this is a decent USB 3.0 hub?
Look at this on eBay:
4 Ports USB 3.0 External HUB Adater for PC Laptop HDD MP3 Mouse Super Speed http://bit.ly/TNDUji I have a late 2012 Mac mini, I'm going to use it for Keyboard Mouse USB speakers And the extra port for plugging my iphone or ipad when I need to connect to computer Or when connecting a USB flash drive real quick The description says works on Mac The cheapest powered 3.0 USB hub on amazon is $30 |

I'd look at newegg or amazon so you can at least see product reviews.... For example only $10 more dollars gets you this: http://www.amazon.com/Chipset-Uspeed...ds=USB+3.0+hub that has a 4.5 star rating...

I agree with the poster immediately above.
USB3 hubs tend to vary wildly in their compatibility with Mac hardware. Buy a "cheap one" on ebay, without checking it out first, and you may end up with a hub that will work -- but only at USB2 speeds. Go to amazon.com and newegg.com first, and spend a few days checking user reviews on the hubs you see that interest you. Pay special attention to those reviews that mention "Mac" (these are probably the ONLY ones you should pay attention to). Best way to see what works, and what doesn't.... |

Impossible to say what the quality is. But it comes with a power adapter, so it should be possible to charge iDevices without a computer present (not at the highest possible speed probably because Apple detects these devices and supplies them more power than USB would normally allow), and it's handy for external drives as well.

![]() With all due respect, but that cable isn't even specified by USB. IIRC, there used to be a version of this hub with a Mini-USB 3.0 connector, though. What's wrong with the Belkin USB 3.0 Hub?
