I'm looking for free sound effects sites that have a phone ringing, dialing, and dial tone sounds. Does anybody know where I can find them? Thanks.

There are plenty out there... just google "free sound effects".. but they're all pretty low quality. I've use a1sounds.com before (i think that's right), but keep in mind they're only for personal use.

I figured someone would say that. I have been on yahoo and google for the last 15 minutes looking them up. Basically I want a traditional ring, but not the old school kind and a regular dial tone. The only one I found you had to purchase for like $4. I'll record my own before I do that.

Free Sound Effects

I know SoundDogs.com are pretty good. There's a guy called TheRecordist.com who has really nice stuff too. I also found a new site called http://www.JungleSonic.com that have world sound effects - all sites have free and pay options.

Did you actually download something there?

The site looks awesome, nice layout and it looks like they have some interesting stuff! But I can not find a way to download the sounds no matter how long I search for it...
Maybe the site is slowly crashing, since it seems 24 hours old and pretty popular already?

http://www.freesound.org has a searchable selection, and I've found it very useful.

I also like freesound.org, and it's creative commons.

You have to enter your email address and click "Download", they send you a link to download the sound files.

I also have a complete pack of telephone tone sounds available for royalty free use if anyone is still looking for high quality phone sounds. It's not free, but it costs less than a night out at the bar ;). And you won't have to waste hours digging through sound effects sites or worrying about finding decent audio quality. The sounds are also seamlessly loopable for extra flexibility
