Time Machine + two identical Macbooks
I have 2 mid 2010 2.4 Macbooks and I have just used my time machine from one to restore the other. The one I just restored is literally crawling through the applications. Does the one I just restored from backup have to reindex itself? That's all I can think of for it to be going this slow.

Yes, that will prompt a Spotlight reindex. But is should not take too long. How long has this been going on?

I had to delete the v100 file and force a reindex after it never finished that starting point where it is calculating. 30 mins later it finished. It's still pretty sluggish, but it made a reasonable difference once done.. One has more ram than the other, but it's this much of a difference:
