With Macs, you'll be losing your money if you buy it near a refresh.

Apple doesn't drop the prices, regardless of how old its products are.

Buy it right after an update. If possible, buy it right after a redesign.

The MacBook Pro was redesigned in June and the next refresh may be soon. That will be a good time for an update.

The MacBook Air was redesigned in 2010 and you may be willing to wait for the next redesign before buying one, if you choose this model.
