The irony of this thread is that even a refurbished iPhone would have a new housing

I had to get my 5 replaced because the volume button stopped working. Received a nice phone though. Im sure its a refurb but the phone itself looks brand new. No bumps, scratches, nothing! I was really impressed with how the phone looks due to the fact that the 5 scratches easily. It is a bummer that its a refurb phone. I paid for a new one, unfortunately I had to replace it.

What difference does it make? Your getting a brand new enclosure, a brand new battery...its basically a brand new phone. These remanufactured handsets are pristine

I think you've overreached to the situation. You got unlucky and received a device that was accidentally scratched during the packaging process. No big deal. This happens from time to time.

I have purchased 11 iPhone 5s this year and none of have any issues.
