First things first, my apologies for making a topic about RAM if it has been brought up 5000000 times in the past. I did read the sticky and all the RAM information that was there but i still dont have a clue about updating/grading my RAM for my iMac thus have decided to come on here and try to get some help from people who do this.
Now to my problem. I want to upgrade my iMac (mid 2011) 21.5"'s RAM, it currently has the standard 4Gb of RAM but i want to upgrade it to about 8, 16 or even 12Gb's (with the current 2 + the new 2 RAM sticks) so it can handle more intense applications and generally handle itself better. Now the thing is that i dont understand all this tech talk about the different types of RAM and DDR1 - 3 and the different speeds.
I was looking around and i was told to use this RAM and that it was compatible with my iMac version:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/memory-upgrades-4GBx2-1333MHz-Macbook/dp/B004TQH6U8/ref=pd_cp_computers_1
Now when i have spent a lot of money on something i like to take a second opinion on buying advice so i dont end up breaking that item, hence why i hope someone can shed some light for me on this.
Hope someone can help and thanks!
(If you need any other information then tell me and ill try to provide it here.)
