Can I normally use QuickLook to view Pages and other iWork documents without having iWork installed on OS X? I'm asking because I used to have the iWork trial installed but deleted it thoroughly erasing all references to "iwork" on the hard drive. When I received some pages documents yesterday, I couldn't view them (I had to do so on my iPad, which is fine). I'm concerned if I didn't remove some system components necessary for quick-looking iWork files or if that's normal behavior of OS X without iWork. iOS Mail can view Pages documents on its own.

You can open Pages Publications with Preview (built-in application)

Sadly, this is what happens when I try opening a Pages document in Preview (the same as when I QuickLook it) - see the attachment.

I see. Maybe Preview depends on Pages to run the document...

Genius idea, change the extension of the file from .pages to .pdf
I tried it and it worked as a pdf document.
