Noam Chomsky, one of my favorite people around. Popularly known for his propaganda model which I find fascinating. Anyways take a look at what he has to say. Also what do you think?
I think you have a bias against most all Americans. Feelings like this seems to the fashionable thing in all the European Union countries now.

That's a pretty bold claim. No idea how your reasoning was able to come to that conclusion.

Shoot that dern'd messenger because he keeps delivering messages we don't like. Shoot him, shoot him again, and shoot him once more just to be sure that he can't deliver that message. While you do that I'll dig some holes into which we can all stick our heads.

I don't know how things would have worked out, no one does. While those countries are great examples that assist your point, I'd like to bring 1992-1994's Somalia incidents in to see what some might think.

While the US was only there to assist a starving population, in a country that even by a raped and pillaged Africa's standards was a total mess, the situation ended in violence and Somalia is still pretty much in an uneasy chaos.

From what I remember, it was more like a vain, hubristic photo opportunity, little more. US photographers were taken ashore early so that they could take artful shots of Marines landing on hostile shores - from the shore.
