Macmini 2011 upgrade hard disks (SM 830, WD Green 2T)
hi i have a mac mini 2011 with a Samsung 830. I wonder if i can install:
- my samsung 830 (7.5 mm)
- WD Green 2TB (15 mm)
is it enough space to install both? any experiences?
edit: has the macmini 2011 enough power (Volts, Watts or Amperes) to handle both disk? The WD Green needs 12V according WD.

According to that it can handle maximum 9.5mm thick drive.
Almost an embarrassing amount of Apple Gear

I am writing with some experience on this. I had an owc stata 2 ssd which is 9.5mm and a wd 1tb hhd also at 9.5mm. I just switched out the ssd for a 7mm sm 830 and had to use some hard drive screws on the top of the hhd to support the ssd. There is a cradle that extended hard drive screws can sit on but in your case I think it would fit but not in the cradle. I'm not sure of the owc particular replacement but you might end up with a floating bottom hard drive. Maybe the ssd on the bottom and the hhd on top

According with this "(...) the 2011 Mac Mini's hard drive cable does not provide 12V power, but the main power supply does output 12V to the logic board(...)" it is seems that it is not possible to install a 12V hard disk without hack. am i correct?
