It's this simple: If Apple allowed both options, typing and swiping, it'd make both worlds happy. I'm not saying swipe should eliminate typing altogether. I often use my iPad on the bed or on the couch with one hand because the iPad is leaning or propped against something. And it's almost always used in portrait mode (I sort of hate landscape mode and usually turn off the screen rotation). It'd be natural to swipe instead of use both hands to peck. Other times, when I'm using my iPad with both hands, I can peck then if it's too laboring to swipe, which, in my opinion, it isn't. It's so much more natural and faster. This is all without even mentioning the basic improvements the iOS keyboard needs first and foremost (the failures of auto-correction, the lack of control over dictionary, no suggestion bar, etc.) ---------- The update has actually made Flowing a serious method of typing. Whereas before, it was just an added feature, an almost 'backup' way to type. Now, I'm finding I'm Flowing more than I am pecking, especially when I'm using it one handed. It's a thing of beauty. |

This will only work on Android OS devices.
I'm sure if you are able to jailbreak the iPad mini there are swipe keyboards available in Cydia, but you cannot change the keyboard on stock iOS ... another feature
