Just curious. I noticed today that iCal no longer uses page curl when I change months. I haven't made any effort to defeat that effect. Is this a fortuitous bug or has Apple done something to turn that off? Is Mr. Ives making his presence felt already?

If you use the swipe method by mouse or track pad the curls are still there. Only when you use the arrows on iCal are they gone. I have Mountain Lion and the latest iCal. I love the effect IMO. ;O)
