Samsung Galaxy ace II x & iphoto

Ok, I may be in the incorrect thread & I have looked throughout the forums for the answer, or perhaps I have missed it:

But here is the problem. When I connect my samsung to my imac iphoto opens okay, and I can transfer the pictures over ok, but before transferring the pictures over they only show up as outlines?

Anyone here who can explain to me why, and how to correct it?
