Threads like this are as ridiculous as the iPad mini threads from a year ago. People will get bashed asking for something not in production yet. The same bashers will probably be the first in line to get the new product and sing its praises when releases. Lol. Hypocrites.

I wish people would understand how electronics (especially in computing) works. The A5 was installed in the iPad mini on purpose because they'd refined the chipping process to package it as a smaller chip, using less power and being perfect for the iPad mini's 1024 x 768 display. That's why it took so long for us to see this version of the iPad to appear.

As a minimum, the A5X is needed to run the retina display. Hopefully this time next year, they'll have compacted the chip to be much more effecient and a lot smaller. The new screens should hopefully need less power than it's iPad 3 cousin running the same chip. It's very possible they'll be no sacrafice to the battery life for these reasons.

Nobody gets bashed for asking for something not in production. They get bashed for screaming and whining that it "is" available right now and doesn't cost more money or require any other compromises at all and that Apple or Google or Samsung or whoever isn't selling it because of some convoluted scheme with shaky reasoning.

??? There's nothing hypocritical about that.

Google didn't put LTE in the Nexus 4 because they didn't like what it would do to price, battery life, and possibly other considerations. There's nothing wrong with explaining that to people, nor is there anything hypocritical about buying a Nexus 4 now knowing and accepting that as a reasonable tradeoff and still being excited to buy the LTE-capable version next year.
