Automatically change resolution when watching iTunes movie
I have a Mac Mini (late 2012 model) connected to my HDTV. Everything works great.
I have movies in iTunes in a variety of formats 1080p / 720p / SD. I would like the Mini to automatically change resolution to match that of the movie I am playing. The reason for this is that I have a new TV which is fairly good at upscaling so would prefer the TV to do it instead of the Mac Mini. Is there anyway to do this by simply playing the movie and have the Mini change the resolution? I could manually change the resolution each time I play a movie but thats such a ball ache. Thanks in advance for your help!

Have you done tests to see if there's a noticeable difference between the upscaling your mini does and the upscaling the TV does?

If you have a Denon AVR you have to set the ip scaler On/Off on whatever input your mini is on.
Your TV will scale to its native resolution unless you adjust this as well. |
