How to sync eMail between Mac and iPhone

How to I sync my eMail between my Mac and iPhone if I am using the gMail app on my iPhone?
iPhone 4S - 16 GB; White ~ iPad "3" - 16 GB; White; WiFi Only ~ iPod Touch 2 - 8GB; Black ~ iPod Nano 2 - 2GB; Silver

Set up IMAP on your desktop's e-mail client to connect to your GMail account. That's all you need to do.

Google keeps your Gmail account "in sync," and both your desktop and iPhone act as clients, that are kept up to date as they pull down your email.
If you're not a clairvoyant, then you shouldn't be speaking for a dead guy.
I'm here to talk about Apple stuff, and related tech stuff. Your political beliefs? I really couldn't care less about.
