I have a 15'' macbook pro - 2009/2010 model I believe.

I replaced the DVD drive with an SSD drive, did a fresh install of 10.6.8 on the SSD.

Kept my original hard drive in there for data, but using the ssd to boot from - great speed enhancer.

Mac stopped seeing built in isight camera right away. It disappeared from system profiler, and was not available in any application (skype, photobooth)

So, I did the SMC reset - and upon reboot the isight was brought back to life. Yaay!

But - my non ssd drive would not show up on the desktop. Booo!

Disk utility sees it, but won't repair it. And Diskwarrior is in the middle of trying to locate directory data.

Anyone ever seen an SMC damage the data on a hard drive?
