Ssd samsung series 840 to trim o not to trim
Does anyone have this model? Samsung MZ-7TD250BW
Do i need to activate TRIM? I'm so confused about TRIM... for 830 series someone suggests to activate it... is the garbage collection in 840 enough? Thanks |

You dont need to no... you can if you want to via TrimEnabler app. My guide here http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1505922 may be of some help.

From what I've been reading lately, the 830 is closer to the performance of the 840 Pro which is more advanced than the 840. Stay with your 830 in my view.

I have the Samsung 840 500GB SSD. Which is faster than the 250gb and smaller.
Sure its not as fast as the 830 and the 840 Pro but its also cheaper too. The 840 replaced my Crucial M4 and its been faster than the M4 in write speeds and on par with read speeds. I paid 369$ on sale for it and I am really happy with my purchase. PS I enabled TRIM.
