[All iPads] Exchanged iPad - warranty

hi all,

i just exchanged an ipad purchased at best buy because i decided i wanted black instead of white. in terms of the 1yr apple warranty, is it from the original date of purchase or is it 1yr from today when i activate this new ipad?

It would be from the date on the exchange receipt.
