[iPad] Brightness issues

Could this be a fault?

At times, when left, the screen dims, but then progressivly gets brighter back to how it should was originally.

Do you have auto-brightness set on?

Yes. I do... But i would have expected it not to act progessivy. As when it like this, it reamins in the same location with the same light.
