2012 Mini - List of supported resolutions
I'll be buying a mid-level Mini with the 2.6ghz upgrade in the next few days.
I was wondering where I could find a complete list of the display resolutions supported by the Intel HD 4000 graphics. One monitor I'm considering is this new model by Dell: http://tinyurl.com/cvgnrjt It has an IPS matte display, wide gamut graphics, and USB3 connection ports. BUT -- it also has an unusual optimum resolution: 2560 x 1080 at 60 Hz So... I'm wondering if the Mini will support it properly. I plan to connect via the Mini's mini-displayport (Thunderbolt) connector (NOT through HDMI). Does a complete list of what resolutions the Mini will support exist? Thanks... |

Nice monitor, looks like a good compromise for dual-display-like workspace with less room on the desk.
I would expect it to work, I don't think there is a pre-set specific combo of resolutions that a computer will push out through DP. There's a maximum overall bandwidth of 17.28Gb/s; the actual max resolution will depend on color depth and frame rate but the Mini will definitely support higher resolution than that at full color & frame rate so it should work fine. |

I have wondered the same thing. If you could only have 1 monitor, the ultra wide looks like it would be cool. I believe LG and Philips are making monitors with the same panel.
