iPhone 5 AT&T , text messages not being delivered

iphone 5 at&t, been noticing over the past few days 50% of outgoing texts to non iPhone numbers take a while to send and end up with an exclamation point and a not delivered icon. however they actually do go through because the receiver is now getting the messages twice.

i do use the phone for work so now it's just getting annoying and really don't know if it's an at&t thing or a phone issue. all imessage texts go through quick with no issues.

That's what I'm thinking and I did call AT&T and they can't seem to find any issues unfortunately

have the same issue. verizon
thus is not the carrier
imessage works OK.
just use talkatone. I give up on fixing this. hopefully 6.1
