iPod How Soon Are iPods Available for Purchase After Announcement?

I have a giftcard that expires September 28th. Would love to put it toward a 2013 shuffle or nano depending what they do with those lines this year.

Any idea when their availability is after they announce them? What was it like next year?

And generally asking, any rumors of any kind regarding the iPods shuffles and/or nanos?

Last year there was an announcement in September, and they shipped in October. I don't think this year there'll be updates besides like a firmware one, mostly to skin the Nano to match iOS 7 and maybe a minor update to support a future iTunes version.

Preorder is available almost right away. So you can at least get your gift card spent, even if you don't get the product until 1 month later....
