iPhone 5 exchange/keep sim?

Hello, quick question. My power button failed and i have an appointment with Apple, if they exchange for another phone will they let me keep the sim so I can use the new phone right there or do I have to take the replacement home and activate the phone as new?

They'll just pop your nano-sim out and put it in the new device.
