They need to be marginalized again, the way it was with the Birchers.

When I was growing up in the '60s and '70s, the Birchers were pretty much my generation's version of the tea party. The difference was, most people's reaction to them was:
I've had it with this self-righteous delusional wing of the party that leads us over the cliff.

I have to agree with this. I was a supporter of the Tea Party when they're main issues were taxing and spending. When I heard Rush, and Hannity promoting them I knew it was over.
